Description Caroline Dries is an American screenwriter and producer who have previously worked as a television writer on three feature-length programs for The CW; Smallville, melrose place and then as an executive producer on the long-running vampire-themed TV show, The Vampire Diaries. She is married to Greg Berlanti, who is also an executive producer/showrunner on the hit TV series, The Shield. She has also written for several other broadcast and cable TV shows, including the short-lived repeats of Once Upon a Time, Star Trek: The Original Series, The Mentalist and Supergirl.

Career wise, she is best known for her numerous writing credits, which span genres, including drama, comedy, medical dramas, science fiction, action, and family dramas. Her credits also include a feature film titled Mommy’s Boyfriend, a novel entitled Nobody’s Land, and a stage play titled The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. She is also known for her guest appearances on television shows like Roseanne, Law and Order, ER, X-Files, Family Guy and The Simpsons. She has also written for several video games including Mass Effect, Batman: The Dark Knight, Guitar Hero, and many others. She has also written numerous screenplays, some of which were turned into movies, including her own feature-length novel titled Nobody’s Land.

For her professional career, Caroline Dries has pursued many acting roles, although she mostly stays in the screenwriting department. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her role as FBI agent Dana Scully in the movie Tombstone and also garnered positive reviews for her performance in the Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland. Additionally, she played a nurse in the acclaimed film Edward Scissorhands, and appeared in the 2021 movie Finding Nemo. She has since worked on a variety of television shows, most notably on ABC’s Once Dead, Twice Shy, and Mom.
