Bowling shoes fashion trends seem to change almost as often as the pins themselves. Recently I noticed a noticeable decrease in the number of men and women bowler shoes at my local bowling alley. The ladies seemed to be wearing more stylish shoes such as boots or sandals for their sport. Men were wearing sneakers, loafers or dress loafers. This all changed when I personally wore a black bowling shirt with khaki trousers. Now you might think that this would be quite out of the way attire for bowling but you would be surprised at how many people walked up to me to ask if I was heading down to the bowling alley to bowl.
What has really become trendy in bowling is the use of bowling shirts to complement other clothing items. Women are wearing their husbands or boyfriends shirts with the bowling shoes removed. Obviously you can’t have your boyfriend or husband wearing bowling shoes if you plan on bowling. However, I have seen women who have had children ask their husbands or boyfriends if they could go bowling with them. It seems that no other sport has gained as much popularity as bowling.
The use of bowling shoes in this sport is becoming as popular as the actual bowling accessory. Fashion trends are what they are today because people are starting to get tired of the same old things. People want to do something new and not have to sacrifice anything to do it. The only thing holding back the bowling shoe trend from being as fashionable as a pair of sneakers is if the person wearing them happens to be a bowler.
