Belle Mare is a family owned and operated restaurant, which has its own location in the Piazza San Marco in Turin Italy. The restaurant started as a humble cafe/restaurant in the Old Town in 1872 and has since then expanded to become one of the most popular restaurants in the entire city of Piazza San Marco. The restaurant serves local dishes such as fresh seafood, meatballs, lasagna, Pasta alla Milanese, and Vegetarians meals such as Chinese food. This restaurant also offers wine and champagne on special occasions.
Belle Mariano uses traditional Italian methods of preparing Italian foods. They begin by roasting the ingredients using olive oil and Genoa Sliced Lamb, seasoned with oregano, Rosemary and thyme until they reach the optimum temperature. Then they cook it slowly over charcoal in a wood fired oven. Once roasted, the meat is then served on the marinated bread with a sauce of prosciutto, fresh vegetables, cheese, olive oil and lemon that is prepared by the artistry of Emeril Lagasse. The Belle Mare name was given when the original chef Emeril Lagasse was looking for a way to describe the unique flavor of the meats he was cooking.
After many years, the original layout of the restaurant was changed, and a smaller area was allotted for outdoor dining. Now it is located in a courtyard surrounded by buildings which face the Piazza San Marco. The Belle Mare restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, and it is famous for its Pasta alla Milanese, which is a creamy, light and healthy pasta dish consisting of linguine, rice, egg, chicken or veal strips, topped with olive oil cream sauce. The average age of the people who dine at Belle Mare is 48 years old, and the average partner’s height is 5′ 11″.
