With the opening of Aurora Art Gallery last year a very long cherished dream came true: the opportunity to display original artistic work by talented artists, not just from the great artists of whose work print posters, prints and book covers have been created, but also works by other artists who belong in different nationalities and different fields. This is because several exhibitions that were organized by the Gallery under the patronage of Lucio Fontana and Piero Fontana in 2021 had achieved an important result. Under the name “Aurora Artistic Works”, ten artists put their works on display in front of the people belonging to different nationalities and different fields. These artists included Enrico Barbieri, Guido Bardi, Piero Di Milan, Mauro Calvi, Enrica Cassiano, Flavio D’Amatte, Daniele Masciatori, Piero Pacini, Angelino Lopes, Giorgio Rubens and Paolo Tonrone.
These ten artists represented various parts of Italy and from different fields. Enrico Barbieri was a musician and an artist, born and raised in Palermo, with a background as a technician, composer and photographer. He joined the bands which included such famous names as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Monkees and the Cranberries. Enrico Barbieri died in a car crash in 1996, at the age of 31.
Mauro Calvi was a painter and illustrator, born and raised in Genoa, with a background as a technician, composer and photographer. He joined the bands that included such famous names as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Monkees and the Cranberries. Mauro Calvi died in a car crash at the age of 31. Giorgio Rubens is a painter, born and raised in Milan, with a strong connection with the arts and a passion for photography, who have worked with many famous and infamous people, including Michael Jackson.
