Ashley Wallbridge is an English musician, DJ, and producer hailing from Stoke-on-Kent. Born in a suburb of Wallington, Ashley started his musical career at the age of nine when he was introduced to playing guitar by his father who happened to be a gospel singer. Ashley has then undergone several musical moves in his early years like playing in a gospel choir, a band called Faith and Vision, as well as on bass and keyboards in various other musical groups. After that, he went on to have a stint as a member of the hardcore band The Specials, playing bass guitar and vocals. Later, he went on to have a spell with the hardcore British group Define Her, where he also had a leading role in their video for “Brutal”.

Ashley Wallbridge’s official website features his current bandcamp page which can be viewed here. Also featured in the site are the music videos for both “The Inner Me”, and “The Specials’. In these videos, Ash can be seen wearing a white t-shirt with a blue tie, sporting rather sparse goatee hair, and speaking in a deep and regal tone. The resemblance between Ash and his partner, Matt Baquet, who are of the same nationality (ENG) as Ashley, is striking. The two look very much alike, even at close proximity. The two also have the same goatee haircuts.

According to several British press reports, Ash has converted to Islam and changed his name to Mohamma ad Din while changing his profession from music to religion. This is not entirely true however, because after converting, he signed to the British record label Art Forms. Two months later, following the dissolution of Art Forms, he decided to go back to his original name of Ashley Wallbridge. Many assumed this was a consequence of an interview in a British music magazine in which he was questioned about changing his name and profession. Whatever the case, his new identity as a singer/songwriter/ performer/ actor/ producer has been made official by a profile published recently by People.
