Ashley Cole Height

Ashley Cole is an English international football player who has represented England at various youth levels, most notably as a right back, playing for Arsenal and Chelsea. As such, his national team career has seen many highs and lows; during which period he has frequently featured for England senior team but has also been a mainstay in their foreign camps as well. Ashley Cole is of English birth but was brought up in Ireland, where his parents had both English and Irish heritage. As a result, Ashley is half British and half Irish. There is little doubt that this would have an impact on his footballing ability – however he has yet to feature for England seriously and only has one cap for Northern Ireland.

Ashley Cole’s Nationality is an interesting topic because although he is British, he is not an Irish citizen and this has made him ineligible to represent the Three Lions. This issue was brought up by Sir Alex Ferguson when asked about Ashley Cole’s eligibility to be selected for England in the 2021 World Cup, having previously claimed that he was eligible but chose not to take part due to the nationality issue. In answer to questions relating to Ashley Cole’s eligibility to play for England, he said:” Ashley Cole is an England player. He is not eligible to play for England”.

Ashley Cole’s height is also an interesting aspect of his personality and is perhaps not what fans of football expect from a centre forward. Ashley is not a big height for a centre forward and is often compared to David James, who is of similar stature to Ashley Cole but is a lot shorter. Ashley Cole’s lack of height is obviously a negative but he does not feel that it prevents him from fulfilling his role in the England side and is looking forward to trying to emulate his idol, David James. If he keeps up the form that he has shown recently then there will not be many who can stop him becoming an England legend. The real test will be in New Zealand for England against the All Blacks and in what appears a very tough tournament if the British select their players.
