Alesya Kafe is a rare case in the Nigeria’s National Democratic Congress, where in no women are selected for the post of President of the Nationality. The Congress, however, failed to appoint any women for the post of President due to lack of space for a female leader within the community. The Nationality’s ruling party however has failed to rectify the mistake made by them. Since then there are two camps in Nigeria; the followers of the Christian religion and the followers of the traditional African religion believe that ales kefir is a taboo for a woman and therefore it is not acceptable for women to be a President of the Nationality.

Alesya Kafe is believed to be the wives or concubines of the then president of Nigeria, Buhari Tunde Idiagdon. Their marriage however was not lawful and they were forcibly removed from their homes and sold as slaves to Europeans in the United States, Great Britain and Australia. They were brought to Lagos in order to undergo medical treatment and they were sold as domestic servants in the tune of Tshwane gedi or about US$90 a month. They were not free to enjoy their freedom because they were forced to work for long hours.

The story behind their captivity is that Tunde Idiagdon loved Alesya Khafir so much that he had her fetched back to Nigeria from Europe in the trunk of his car on his return flight to Nigeria from England. She was kept hidden in the boot of his car when he went to fetch her. In order to save themselves from being sold into slavery, Alesya and Tunde planned to get pregnant so that they could use their slave girl child as a bargaining chip once they got out of jail in England. However, in the meantime, Tunde was shot and killed in a clash between the British forces and the Colonial troops at Winnivere prison camp in Lagos.
