Emma Checker is an Australian football player who currently plays as a right back for Melbourne City in the W-League. She has represented Australia at youth, under seventeen, and under twenty levels. She made her international debut in October 2021 at the age of sixteen. She is a versatile player for Melbourne City and has been primarily used on the wing in recent times. She is tall (not excessively tall) with a thin build and is not exceptionally mobile. However, she is strong and has a great deal of endurance for a player of her physique.

Emma has also represented Australia in the under-19 w-league season. She has also trained with the Socceroos on several occasions. It would be great to see Emma Checker in an international match against England or the United States of America. The teenage left back has been likened to a defending midfielder in terms of her position play and passing. She would be a good bet for the Socceroos to bring into their national team set up.

Emma is yet to feature in the team which started the new year. Coach Holger Cramond has indicated that he may make a switch for the left back spot during the upcoming matches. Cramond is likely to have to rely on players like Kundai Bruins, Jordon Roberts and Tom Marsh who are experienced at the international level for Australia. Another player likely to leave the club during the off season is goalkeeper Declan Kidd. He is highly thought of in Australia but has failed to live up to the hype of making a good impression in the domestic leagues.
