Age-Old Career For Adventure Enthusiast Adam Ondra

Adam Ondra has been married to Kati, who according to their wedding website is his wife since 1996. They have one son, named razor. According to their engagement announcement at cinco de Mayo, Adam Ondra and Kati had been dating for the last eight months. He has previously made news because of his high body building, as well as because he was barred from the Olympics due to an alcohol related offense.

Adam Ondra was raised in Southern California, the son of a Honduran immigrant family. While in college, he became interested in climbing, traveling to Himalayas, and joining the United States Mountaineering Team while in college. He then trained at the American Alpine School in Boulder, Colorado, and eventually started working for the Rock and Ice Cream team while completing a degree in communications. After leaving the school in 2001, Adam Ondra began a relationship with David Thomas, a British climber and mountain guide who were also living in Europe. It was here that Adam Ondra met his wife Kati.

On April 9, Adam Ondra made his first ascent of the spectacular limestone face known as Flatanger, in Austria. The following day, he summoned the face, and on the same day, made another successful climb of the same route, reaching the top of Flatanger in 11 minutes. These two climbs established Adam Ondra as a noteworthy expert in the area and also made him a name that was known all over the world. The following year, Adam Ondra again summited the face of Flatanger in a record time, setting a new record for the fastest first ascent of a major Alpine route.
