Adriana Monsalve, who also goes by the name of Carolina Yepes is a Venezuelan based sportscaster who is currently working for Univision Deportes (the Spanish broadcasting station). She began her career as a weather girl in Venezuela. Her career spanned three different countries before she settled in the United States. The name of the reporter is slightly misleading since she covers a variety of sports, but in this case, her coverage is focused on the Venezuelan National soccer team. I had the opportunity to catch up with her during a telecast from ESPN when the team was playing against Mexico in Miami.

Ms. Monsalves started her career in journalism at the age of 16 where she was interning at the University of Texas. From there, she went to Ketchum College in Idaho and graduated in just two years. She joined the prestigious footsteps of Lucinda Lima, who has been a feature writer for the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times among many other publications. This is the same networks that once interviewed Adriana for her feature article entitled “Venezuela’s National Sportscasters.”

Prior, to being hired by Univision she was involved in sports broadcasting in Colombia and at the International Broadcasting Corporation (IBN). She was also a sportscaster for Telemundo in Columbia. Ms. Monsalves is currently the highest ranked woman sportscaster in the entire world.
