In the second season of Hannah Sofia, the title character, a 30-year-old single mother, returns to vie for her life with her daughter, older brother and two best friends, older sister Gretchen (Daria Stackpole) and her best friend, Renesmee (Thania Legg). The girls all attend the same private school, called the New Directions, where Hannah takes to heart to share her personal feelings about her motherhood and being a single mother in the big city. When the unthinkable occurs and both girls are thrown into the position of foster parents, they find that their professional and personal lives will forever be linked to each other. As the show progresses, we learn more about each girls past and present, as well as what drives her to keep the relationship going or whether it’s possible for them to ever be separate. We also watch as the various members of the cast and crew interact with one another and react to various events.
The music in the show is fantastic. Various songs reflect Hannah’s past experiences and what is happening in her present. I particularly like how at the beginning of the first episode, ‘The Cravings’, Hannah listens to a song by The Nittany Lions while driving to school – on her way to finding herself attracted to another female student, Renesmee. At the end of the episode, she’s singing along with the Nittany Lions and imagining her future with her new lover, Dan (John Di Lee). Music is an important part of the show, and I think this is another aspect of the show that gets overlooked.
If you’ve never watched a talk show about a girl that is in pre-school, or is only in high school, then you should really give Age ofgasms a try. There are a lot of interesting characters, great music and a great plot. If you like watching dramas, then I highly recommend that you give Age ofgasms a try. I look forward to coming back for more because I’m sure I will enjoy what they are trying to do with it. You can catch the episodes of Age ofgasms on Hulu.
