According to IMDB, Hiasche plays Natalia, an Asian American, who is married to an older Russian in the midst of World War III. Age of Youth is one of the most talked about movies of the year with both the critics and audiences lauding Hiasche’s work. Many reviews of the film have highlighted the strong female characters that are featured prominently in the film such as Natalia’s struggle to maintain her identity and remain loyal to her husband, while also finding love with another man. The film did however receive a fair amount of criticism from the Chinese Government, which claimed that many of Hiasche’s characters were misrepresented as Chinese. The government also pointed out several other scenes that they considered to be inappropriate such as the rape of a Chinese girl and the use of a child as a weapon.
