Dana Terrace has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Music, Original Score (John Corigliano & Mary Meyer, The Great Bazaar) for her contribution to the creation of Disney animated films. She has also won four Golden Globe Awards and a Screenplay Oscar for her work on The Nightmare Before Christmas. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Music, Original Score (John Corigliano, The Nightmare Before Christmas) for her work on that film. She also had a role in the Kung Mangarap Ka’s Humko Kiya in the Kabaladean movie. She has since gone on to do some voice acting and song acting work for movies and television programs like Planes, Trains and Automobiles as well as episodes of Law and Order: SVU.

Age is only a number. No, really, it isn’t even a number at all. Dana Terrace isn’t old yet. She isn’t even young yet. She is a Nationality, just like you and me. She has chosen an acting career in which she plays older characters in order to explore her own identity and what does and doesn’t define us as women and men in this country.

As a woman in this country, I find it insulting that people mock my height and frame simply because I am an older woman. Height is nothing to be ashamed of. Men should be able to wear skirts that fit, no matter their height. Women should not have to be reduced to an object by comparing ourselves to others. We are women and we can do the best that we can in our careers as well as in our personal lives. Just remember that being shorter than the masses is not necessarily a reason to be lesser than the rest.
