Alice Fresnel was an artist, writer, and the wife of a well to do gentleman. They had been happily married for many years, until one day Alice was not able to find her address. For her this was a very sad matter, as she loved to search high and low for her family, however all she could find were old letters from her father. When Alice’s father passed away, Alice was devastated. Because she loved writing and had published several novels, it was clear that Alice wanted to do something with her career, however it was very difficult to decide what this would be.
Because of her love for traveling, Alice wanted to visit country clubs, which is something that most men never thought she did. She always longed to be in a situation where there would be total freedom, where no one would ask her to speak a language that she didn’t even know, and where she could forget her worries and fears for the day. One of the things that country clubs did was provide opportunities for Alice to meet other people with similar interests. Alice spent time with other like-minded people, and over the years she developed very strong friendships, which spanned both gender and religion boundaries.
Once Alice returned to England, she decided that she would like to pursue a career in the performing arts, but she didn’t know where she wanted to start or how to begin. Entertaining audiences at country clubs was not something Alice was interested in doing, however it was very helpful to her as she searched for other ways to combine her talent with another profession. Through the assistance of an agent, Alice was able to get into a world of theatre. For the next ten years, Alice Fresnel made her name as one of the best known and successful female comedians of her time. She has gone on to have numerous successful careers in films, theatre, and stand up comedy.
