Age Defying Youth Activist: Partnering With Juliana Olimo

Juliana Olimo was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She is the founder of “agospecialistas”, an online educational platform that provides a platform for young entrepreneurs and community leaders to interact and share ideas. She is also a social entrepreneur; she co-founded the Age Defying Youth Forum, which is an online resource for youth and adults nationwide. She earned a BA degree in International Business in London, UK in 1994 and presently is based in New York City, studying at the accelerator program New York Institute of Finance.

Olimo’s international background also includes Spanish, German, English, Portuguese and a minor language (murkiness). Her mother is originally from Germany and was a medical assistant in a clinic in Germany; her father was an engineer. Juliana’s ethnic background is African-American with several features of African Venezuelan women such as dark skin, dark hair, brown eyes, and dark skin. She has said that her father was not accepting of her racial identity but she loved him nonetheless and considers herself to be half German and half Nigerian.

Olimo’s work in Nigeria has also included participation in the Peace Corps and was assigned to serve as an exchange assistant in Tanzania. In 2021, she left to work in Washington D.C. as an intern for the Center for Global Engagement in Washington, D.C. and in the states of Massachusetts and Maryland; she was a senior fellow at the institute’s Africa Policy Lab. Currently, she serves on the board of directors of the World Resources Institute and is currently writing a book on “aging” through youth leadership initiatives. In addition, she serves on the boards of the Alliance for Women in Education (AWE) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). Olimo has also received awards for her writing, speaking and consulting skills.
