Luisa Moraes is a famous Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, writer, teacher and consultant. She is also an accomplished instructor at the Helio Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy in Rio de Janeiro. Her many awards including being the first female, black belt (in Brazil) and the first ever black women Jiu Jitsu world champion in 2021. She has held various teaching positions at the Helio Gracie Academy.

Age and nationality have nothing to do with it – the fact is that Luisa Moraes is a very skilled competitor who is at the top of her game right now in her life as an adult. Her age is not important to her, what is important to her is winning a championship in her division. Her international competition experience spans over five years. She has fought for and won the absolute titles at both her black and white belts.

Her expertise lies in her ground and pound with her young Brazilian jiu jitsu partner. She has a unique and challenging style that is well suited to women who are very athletic, flexible and have a powerful base that can take a punch. Her aggressive style has earned her a lot of respect from her male counterpart.
