Giulia Blasi was born in Catania, Italy, the daughter of an Italian father and an Egyptian mother. Giulia is currently studying law at the University of Glasgow, specializing in European law, following a short course in international relations. As Giulia is committed to her family, she made it clear from early childhood that her nationality would be an issue when it came to marrying and having children. She earned a degree in international relations at the University of Rome before moving back to Italy where she pursued her undergraduate studies, focusing on political science and diplomacy.
Giulia Blasi joined the BBC as a camera man after graduating and has spent the past 24 years working in a number of different capacities. During this period she has presented to daytime television and stage shows, produced documentaries, acted in TV series, been a guest presenter on numerous radio stations and been featured in numerous books. Giulia Blasi holds a degree in political science, but pursued her love of photography, by becoming a fashion photographer for a number of Italian and international magazines.
After many years of work inside the BBC, Giulia Blasi decided to explore other avenues in her career, and now works as a freelance journalist based in Rome. Her articles and book covers include issues related to immigration, inter-generational wealth, alternative medicine, disability rights, cosmetic issues, the aging process and women’s rights. Her articles have appeared in dozens of top-name newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, The Guardian, Lifestyle, Town and Country, among others.
