Adriana Melo was born in Rio de Janeiro, where she grew up studying drawing and painting. After graduating in mathematics, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a comics artist, which was a path chosen by many other artists during her time. Although she has pursued different subjects, such as anatomy, she has focused most of her efforts on portraying Brazilian culture, particularly the life of a Brazilian girl. Since gaining formal training at the Santo Domingo Art Institute in Brazil, she has honed her skills and improved upon them, becoming one of the most accomplished artists in her field.

Her work is noteworthy for the style in which it conveys, incorporating colorful strokes that are reminiscent of dream animation. Melo draws inspiration from many different sources, particularly the life of Brazilian women, and the exotic places they have visited. In addition, Melo has drawn covers for a number of famous animated films, including the cult animated film “Dumbo” and the Disney film “Cinderella.”
