Lisa D’Amato is an American fashion designer, model and television personality primarily from Los Angeles, California. She has been known for her bold designs and styles, which have been featured in several print magazines including L’officiel, Lucky, Vibe, Allure, Self Magazine, among others. At the moment, she is engaged in a long-term relationship with actor Evan Handler, who plays opposite her in the sitcom Everyone Loves Raymond. She is twenty-nine years old. The L’ Officiel/RT Models agency was founded by Lisa D’Amato in 1993. Although it was not very successful during its existence, it was one of the agencies which promoted young models from Latin America to New York and beyond. The company is run out of a small office in Manhattan. It also has several other smaller departments, all located throughout the country, which represent women of different ages, ethnicity and heights. The company specializes in fashion design, photography, interiors and stylist services for interior designers, hairdressers and stylists.
As an agency, L’ Officiel represents models with portfolios which they have developed themselves or commissioned others to create. A commission is paid only if the client agrees to the model’s demands, which are usually based on the age and height of the girl. Each model will then undergo a training period during which they learn about preparing different elements to make their own individual styles and concepts. After this phase, the trainees go on to a live shoot to show off their talents. After the shoot is over, each model is required to return to the studio to model for a fitting outfit according to the producer’s instructions. The majority of models go on to become famous and have their own lines and sub-brands, while others continue to work with the L’ Officiel agency and continue to promote the art of fashion design.
