Abigail Disney is an American independent film producer, humanitarian, and social commentator. She has produced the award-winning documentary, Pray the Devil Right Back To Hell, which was later on developed into a feature-length film. She is also the creator and executive producer of the award-winning web series, The Armor of Light. She is also a consultant and workshop leader for the film and television industry.
Aside from her works in the production industry, Abigail Disney also served as a producer and storyboard writer for a number of short films. She is most notably credited as a producer and co-writer on the award-winning documentary film titled Soul Surfer, which was directed by Richard Linkman. She also wrote the script for the animated series entitled Phases, which was directed by Tim Burton.
In terms of her professional accomplishments, Abigail Disney was one of the first female producers in Hollywood to be given the role of co-founder and president of the Walt Disney Company. She was also named one of the most popular people in Hollywood for the seventies, as listed in the book Who’s Who in Hollywood. She also became the first woman to be listed on the cover of Time Magazine’s “The Best Women in Hollywood” list. Additionally, she was given the first Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in The Seven Dwarfs, her second film in the classic animated series, Disney Princess.
