Kate Flannery is a British solicitor who has represented celebrities and well-heeled clients with all different walks of life. In the legal profession Kate has expertise in family law and also has expertise in media law, commercial law and litigating in the Employment Rights Act and maternity law. Kate’s areas of interest are also vast, she is a Family Law Practitioner, an employment law consultant, and a writer/presenter on legal issues. Kate was born in Scotland but according to some sources was actually born in Ireland. She has one parent who is British and one parent who is Irish. Kate moved to Australia as a young child and later obtained a degree in law at Adelaide University. Kate married a man from Hong Kong and at the age of thirty she became a citizen of the country. This would make her eligible to apply for UK citizenship even if she had already lived in the country for five years by the time of her application.
Kate has dual citizenship due to the fact that she has Australian and Hong Kong nationality according to the UK immigration laws and has been able to apply for indefinite leave to remain as a person in the country under the rights and privileges that accompany citizenship of a country. As Kate has dual citizenship, she has the right to live and work in the country of her choice. Her partner has the right to live and work in the country of his choosing as well although this may not be an option for those who are not eligible under UK immigration laws to bring their partners into the country.
