Alex Valentina was a professional wrestler for the United States Army. In fact, he was decorated with several medals and was in the army for most of the Vietnam War. When he left the service, he made a decision not to pursue wrestling professionally any longer and instead focused on becoming a professional wrestler in the National Football League. While in the NFL he was known for being one of the taller and stronger players in the league and as a result he received consideration to be a wrestling match with partner Hulk Hogan.
During this period of time Valentina and Hogan were given the nickname The Big Dogs and frequently worked together. However, they soon discovered that their size difference and lack of wrestling experience held them back when it came to facing each other in a match. Despite this many people have tried to book them against each other and despite the short height of both men there were always matches booked. Part of the reason for this is due to the fact that both men had never been in a wrestling match with each other prior to this point in their careers.
Eventually, as the two wrestlers began working more with each other they found that they could work off of each other when they needed each other. After years of working as a team the two began to grow apart, even though they still maintained a strong partnership because of their similar height difference. In 2021, Valentina finally decided to try and get into wrestling professionally again but he was not successful. He ended up breaking his leg during a match and the bone eventually became paralyzed. Since then there has been no updates regarding where he is planning on going in his wrestling career and whether or not he has any interest in participating in international wrestling competitions.
