A Look At Casey Keasler

Casey Keasler is an American professional figure skater, the oldest American male in competition, and is a two-time US Olympic Committee candidate. She is currently tied for fifth in the world with Canada’s Renee Gracie, and is a four-time world champion. While many figure skaters are known for their amazing physiques, Casey Keasler has been known to be quite muscular and is still growing into her figure. Her height may be at risk though because of her Nationality, as she is American, and is listed as British by the US figure skating team, and listed as German on the German Olympic committee site. While it is not officially confirmed that she will compete for her country in the Olympics in the future, it is certainly a possibility.

Her height has been an issue since childhood, and at one point was held against her by her coach at the Michigan State University. This caused her to withdraw from competing against men in order to concentrate on her hockey career. In addition, in 1992 the US Olympic Committee denied her a place on the team, citing her height as a performance risk. Casey went on to play for the University of Alabama for one season, and then entered the hockey world, signing with the Minnesota North Stars. It was there, though, that her height problem became a big concern, as her coach at the time, Tom Poti, believed that her lack of height was holding her back.

Casey has admitted to being self-conscious about her height, and once competed as a Division II player for the University of Alabama. Despite her height, the USHL offered her a tryout, and she excelled there, scoring goals in her lone game. She has since become an All-Star in the United States National Team for Hockey. However, despite her professional success, it seems that her Nationality, and her work ethic have kept her apart from the ice for too long. She is only 25 years old.
