1990s fashion trends like grunge style and the grunge backpack certainly paved the way for the current fashion style that we have today. Oh, how long the 1990s. It truly did give us some of the greatest television shows, popular movies and of course some of our greatest fashion trends as well. Some people will disagree but I truly believe that the 1990s was the decade where styles were truly transformed. We saw many changes in our clothing styles and we also saw many changes in the accessories that we wore.
The 1990s fashion trends of grunge as we know it today is actually a rather complex thing to pin down. It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what started the fashion trend or what contributed to its start. What we do know is that after the huge success of grunge styles like preppy jeans and small retro baseball caps, came the extremely popular trench coat and bowling shirt. Then, with the success of these and other styles, came even more sweeping changes in the entire fashion world including, yet again, the addition of more casual clothing to the wardrobe.
Some people would say that the 1990s fashion trends were less defined than others. But to be fair, it truly was a very diverse decade in terms of fashion and accessories. Of course, the one defining trend of that decade would definitely be the ubiquitous presence of college wear in every single urban setting. College kids and their frat brothers represented nearly everyone who was anyone in the country.
