Anna Bromilow has been described as having an infectious enthusiasm for clothes. As a stylist her main interest has been in high fashion, which she enjoys. She is well known for her eye-catching designs and has worked with some of the world’s most well-known designers. Most notably she worked with Elle Macpherson for five years from 1997 to 2021, where she launched the Elle Macpherson line of clothes. Since then Anna has set up her own fashion company in New York which she describes as her “dream job”. The company is called Anna Bromilow Haute Couture and she has designed for brands such as Cia Maritima and Dior.
Anna Bromilow was born in Ukraine and moved to England at the age of eleven, where she began studying art. She gained a degree in Design and Communications at University College London where she pursued a career in interior design before moving back to Kiev where she worked as a fashion assistant for another renowned fashion designer. In 2021 she set up her own consultancy called Anna Bromilow Haute Couture and has managed to launch and promote many successful lines including the Elle Macpherson collection.
Anna Bromilow first came across Elle Macpherson when she was interviewing for a job at the magazine Lucky for her father who was then in the art department. After her interview with her boss suggested that she take the next step and become the fashion director of a brand called Tatler. When she was told this she was disappointed but instead of quitting her job as fashion director of Tatler, she decided to go back to her school to study more. Despite having a degree, Anna Bromilow decided to pursue a career as a teacher because it was important to her that younger pupils know about the importance of fair trade. Today, Anna Bromilow still works hard to spread awareness about animal rights and help to create a positive atmosphere for young and old alike.
