Meghan Lane is another of those stars who have managed to keep a straight face through her entire acting career. Although she began as a character actor on television, slowly building up considerable success later on with some memorable and successful films such as “A Few Good Men”, Meghan’s enduring popularity can be credited to her nationality: Irish. Born in Donegal, Ireland, Meghan has English, Scottish and Welsh heritage. Meghan’s father was a cart driver and she has always described herself as a traditional person, which perhaps explains why she has been able to maintain a stable and confident persona throughout her acting career. Born to an Irish mother and an Irish father, Meghan has always said that she feels most English and not really of Irish decent.
Meghan has maintained a good height difference throughout her acting career. She is naturally tall (which can be seen in her screen time as Nucky in the movie “A Few Good Men” where she towers over her male co-stars) and she maintains a similar height difference when she goes to movies where her partner is taller than her. Meghan usually wears knee-length skirts and blouses that reveal her long legs – a feature that comes in very handy when trying to hide the fact that she is, in fact, eight inches shorter than her partner in most movies. Meghan’s personality also helps to enhance her height difference: although she has said several times that she isn’t exactly the outgoing type, there are many times when she manages to be approachable and friendly towards others.
However, if there is one thing that Meghan Lane has tried to conceal in recent years, it would be her height difference. In her book, “Songs for Spouses”, Meghan Lane expresses her frustration with her height and how this has affected her ability to act on stage and in film. Although she is aware of the disadvantage of her height, Meghan Lane has written about trying to find ways of hiding her height flaw. While she has admitted to having short heights in the past, she has come to see that the problem is becoming much more of an issue as she ages: in a society where looks can sometimes matter more than performance, it seems that height may indeed be something of the past for Meghan Lane.
