Anna Meredith is a Scottish actress, singer and composer of pop and acoustic music. She has been a guest artist with many popular musicians including Elton John, poppy disc jockey, David Gray, Neil Young and Jon Bon Jovi among others. She has also made several documentaries about her life and career. Height of Youth is one of her films.

Anna was born in Edinburgh, Scotland where she was a big fan of comic books, fantasy novels and cartoons. At the age of seven, Anna began to draw and paint using her imagination, which led to her developing a keen interest in art and crafts as well as reading books on the subject. As she grew older, she became more interested in stories involving animals and medieval themes and this eventually led her to writing and performing her first few songs. After moving to London to continue pursuing her musical career, Anna began working with various recording labels while performing at numerous festivals worldwide. Anna has gone on to create music scores for television shows such as Doctor Who, Love Actually, Family Guy, The Office, Chuck and We’ve Never Come Together and several stage plays. She has also won Grammys for her singles “Come As You Are” and “Everything Is Alright”.

Height of Youth is Anna Meredith’s second album of original songs and was produced by the band Postcard from Paradise. The album was recorded in collaboration with her band mate, Scottish musician, David Campbell. Anna Meredith has previously worked with Campbell from his album We’ve Never Come Together and also did a track on his album The Best Laid Plans. Following its successful completion, Anna Meredith went on to score an episode of the BBC1 sitcom No Reservations and also wrote and sang a number of songs for the film adaptation of her song, “Hear Ye Him Sing”. Aside from her work with David Campbell, Anna Meredith has also formed her own indie pop group called Purity Ring.
