Ann-Sophie Thieme, a famous Vietnamese-American actress of Vietnamese descent, was born in Port Arthur, California. She is best known for her role as Nguyen in the hit TV series, Growing up Richesse (runs on FX). In her early years in Hollywood, Ann-Sophie was a rather typical child growing up in California. Her parents divorced when she was very young, and she moved along with her siblings to different areas of the country.

By the time she was in high school, she had already developed quite a fashion sense for all things Vietnamese. At one point, Ann-Sophie developed a love for the poetry of Chinua Achebe and dedicated herself to studying it in depth. Once she became a published poet, Ann-Sophie then discovered her true passion: acting. After graduating from Pacific University with a degree in English, Ann-Sophie then enrolled at the prestigious Juilliard School of Theater. She made her first professional acting gig at the age of twenty, playing an exotic dancer in a French film called La trapeze.

Ann-Sophie then appeared in the movie Love Actually, playing the character of Gabrielle, who was married to a German. She has since gone on to star in more Hollywood films, playing various Vietnamese characters. She is represented by the company, Silver Sea Entertainment, by her agent, Jeff Miner, and by her reps, Gary Ginsberg and Amy Waterman.
