Adriana Diaz is an award winning journalist for CBS News. She covers national, local, and world politics, along with current affairs and some Hollywood news. She has won numerous awards for her reporting, and her articles are frequently picked for AP awards and the coveted Golden Globe Award for her reporting on the Iraq war. Adriana is the daughter of immigrants from the Colombian and Mexican descent, and came to live in America in the early 80’s. Her father was a successful restaurant owner, and her mother was a talented writer. Adriana started her career at age twenty, working at several radio stations, before finding her way into television at age twenty-one.
Adriana was born in Miami, Florida, and grew up in the Washington DC metro area. She attended the University of Miami, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. After graduation, she worked as a reporter for WPLR in Miami, covering everything from local politics to the White House. Later, she became a political reporter for CNN before moving to North Korea, where she covered the reclusive state for the respected network. She currently covers international political, business, and media affairs for both cable and satellite television channels one, and is a contributor for The Cipher.
