The first time I saw Alice Moireau, I had no idea what I was looking at, nor did I care to look for further information on the woman herself. At first glance, I could tell that this was a woman who fit the stereotypical description of ‘a bad-ass French national’ – tall and confident with thick hair and a sexiness that belied her age and nationality. In the face of these traits, I could not help but think of the late Roger Moore’s take on the same character, “A woman who has everything a man could want: beauty, brains, and more beauty.”
Alice Moireau’s website and personal life tell a different story. There is scant information on her height, her marital status, or even how she originally came to be in France. We do know that she was in her thirties when she married Mathieu Girardin, a much older businessman who appears to have more money than she does. This does not necessarily discount her beauty, as it is evident that Alice Moireau’s beauty has been on display since her days as a model and actress; even during her marriage to Girardin, she showed off her youthful appearance in Still Alice.
Alice Moireau was known for being extremely self-confident in her looks and intelligence; even after marrying a much older and less intelligent husband. It is entirely possible that Alice Moireau took her tall height from her modeling career, or from the French occupation she was known for before that. One mystery that remains is whether or not Alice Moireau was aware of her height until she was eighty-one. She certainly looked the part, which makes this a mystery that might never be solved, but one that is interesting to observe. I will conclude by briefly describing where she is now, to conclude that neither Alice Moireau nor her husband ever noticed that their official height difference existed.
