Rita Murphy said he’d make a good lawyer. “He will help our family and our neighbors,” she said. “He’s just going to do what’s best for him and his family.” He was in a state of shock and appeared weak and shaken up, she said. His daughter, Rebecca, and her parents, Diane and Dave Murphy, were at the hospital in San Diego Friday night, her mother said. Her husband spent Sunday afternoon at their home. She was also in the hospital, attending to her mother, her father said.

This weekend, a woman was shot multiple times in the chest in the city of Houston. She later died at a local hospital.
