Toilet Paper Socks: Fashion or Function?

Toilet Paper Socks, so called because they are manufactured using paper towels instead of toilet paper, have really taken off in the past few years. Basically, a pair of toilet paper socks is made by attaching a piece of cotton fabric to each leg of the toilet paper sock and then placing the foot end of the sock over the corresponding paper towel. The other end of the sock, which often is shorter than the other end, is tied around the ankle for a more comfortable fit. Generally, these socks are relatively inexpensive and can be found just about anywhere; especially in small towns where there is generally a similar style of store that sells clothing and accessories. These fashion statements are becoming increasingly popular throughout the United States and around the world.

In some instances, toilet paper socks are made of materials other than cotton fabric, such as synthetic fibers. However, synthetic materials do not create the softness of cotton cloth and also tend to absorb the sweat that comes from the skin much quicker than regular cotton socks do. In addition, many people find that using these type of socks has a number of practical uses. For example, they can be used to replace slacks and jeans at work, during sports, or as a fashion statement during downtime or after hours.

The use of toilet paper as a fashion statement has grown so significantly in recent years, that the trend is expected to continue to grow. Today, you will see more people out and about wearing these fashionable items. Some even believe that this is partially due to the increased availability of designer jeans. Indeed, when one looks at the amount of designer jeans that can be purchased, one may begin to wonder what prompted the growth in toilet paper’s usage as a fashion statement.
