Background: Adam Glick was born as the son of an American couple in Queens, New York. His parents were a pair of seamstresses who were raised together and later divorced. After studying chemistry in college, Adam Glick joined the United States navy, serving for two years in the Pacific. While in the navy Adam Glick developed a love of cooking which led to a job as a chef at an exclusive resort. While there he met his future wife, actress Summer Glayden, whom he had met while performing in a play. Together they had a daughter named Ali; their marriage ended in divorce when Summer revealed that she had been seeing other men.
