How to Clean Leather Boots – Basic Guide For Cleaning Your Boots

If you have ever worn your leather boots at work, chances are they have dirt and grime built up on them to the point where they no longer feel great on your feet. You probably do not want to constantly be cleaning them for the sake of getting rid of all the nasty mud, you also want to have those unattractive stains out of them for the better to look and smell nice once again. This is why you will find many people having a fashion or leather cleaning service to come into their home and make sure that all of that grime and dirt is removed and that their boots look as new as can be.

One of the most common things people will have to remove from their suede boots is the scuff marks that have formed on the bottom of the shoe. Suede is a material that is very easy to damage especially if you happen to step on it hard enough. Most suede boots are made with a thick rubber material on the bottom which protects it from the hard soles of your feet, but this rubber also makes it extremely easy to damage the suede, which is usually what leads to scuff marks appearing. One way to remove this scuff mark is to place a soft dry cloth directly on top of it with the sides being rubbed away from the suede and then carefully remove the entire area of scuff until you can finally get it off of your boots.

Cleaning your boots may also include removing the excess grease that builds up from use. Grease tends to stick to suede boots, and while you can simply place them in the washing machine and wash them as normal, there is much more to it than that. There are special boots called suede grease removers that work much better than regular soap and water when it comes to removing the grease from suede boots, because the grease cleaner is designed to actually dissolve the grease without making the boot soak in it. You can use these cleaners as many times as necessary until the boots are totally clean.
