On the heels of our November Nationally Speaking cover story on the color trends for the next year, I thought it would be fun to bring you a closer look at the color trends for the 21st century. Our colorfully anxious world is a colorful one, and we’ve only just begun to scratch the surface of what can be worn colorfully. If you’re looking for a trend that’s just beginning to heat up across the fashion landscape, consider the new leather high top sandals. With their ultra-cool, asymmetric lines and sexy straps, they are the perfect accompaniment to any business suit or sleek sheath dress, and they come in a wide range of classic colors such as ivory and beige to modern vogue colors like bright blue and chartreuse. Another cool trend that’s catching on is men’s knitwear. There are many stylishly created pieces in the market that feature modern fabrics like tweed and cashmere with a touch of old school nostalgia, such as the classic cardigan sweater or the iconic fisherman’s sweater.

As part of our Nationally Speaking feature on color trends for the coming year, I was thrilled to find a new line of footwear for men that features some of the hottest new styles and hottest colors this season. New Balance has introduced the first speaker series to hit the market since they introduced the “Papal” shoe in 2021. This new range of sneakers takes inspiration from both vintage and contemporary designs and includes some pretty amazing colorways and looks for this winter. This will be an exciting series to follow because many of the shoes in the collection are being designed with the help of legendary designer Tom Ford. One of my favorite elements of the shoe range is the swoosh logo built into the heel.

Next up on our color trends for the coming year is an interesting piece of footwear by Canadian footwear giant Bellaccino. This winter, Bellaccino is offering Oxfords, laces, and clogs in a variety of interesting color combinations including multi-color snowflakes, and even black and white. The brand is taking it big on the street fashion scene and showing that they are not afraid to put color in their designs. If you want to get an idea of what Bellaccino is doing with their footwear offerings, then look out for the Bellaccino x grey model. That should give you a good idea of what to expect in the fall and winter months.
