1977 Fashion Trends
In 1977, there were no fashion magazines, YouTube, Facebook, MySpace or even MyWorldPlus. People waited for the Fashion Week shows on television. Then a small handful of people would know someone who owned a particular designer or was trying to get the latest fashions. Those were the fashion trends. Today, if you walk into the mall or a busy shopping center you’ll see a different world, it’s a very different world.
There are many different fashion trends available in today’s world, from hip and edgy to ethnic and traditional. Today, our parents and grandparents never had to worry about trying to keep up with the Jones’ and everyone was wearing the same thing. However, thanks to the internet and cable television the trends are changing rapidly.
If you have an eye for fashion then you have probably been studying magazines and catalogs for a while now. The styles that are being introduced this season by designers are astonishing. This year we are seeing designers take traditional African prints and creating new modern interpretations. There are also new interpretations of classical European designs, influenced by the works of Dior and Versace. The classic lines of Chanel and Dior still exist but they have been modernized.
