Fashion Trends From the 1960’s to the 1968 Fashion Week

One of the most important and well known fashion trends of the 1960’s was the “Glow” that was associated with the fashion of that era. This trend was associated with hues such as light brown, pastel and off-white. This was actually the first color scheme to be used in a popular fashion show and it gave birth to many different clothing items and trends for the 1960’s. Some of the items included pants that were long, short, wide leg pants, dress pants, jackets, skirts and even high-heeled shoes.

After this fashion trend came the “PP”. This was a short term for Play peeves. These were very unique fashion trends that were very colorful and informal. It was defined by wearing puffy pink clothing with white polka dots. It represented a new take on the usual fashion that was being used for women at the time.

The fashion trends of the 1970’s are often referred to as the “Lyrical”. The ideas associated with this period are considered to be more fashionable and relaxed than those of the previous years. The fashion of this decade was considered to be bright, bold and relaxed. A lot of clothing items were introduced that are considered to be some of the first fashion statements from this era.
