The 1930s Mens Fashion Trends are the most looked at and discussed fashion of the decade. This is because the Depression had just hit and there was a lot of unemployment and people scrambling for ways to make ends meet. It was during this time that fashion started to be more thought about, as it always is when times are tough. The reason being is that people were beginning to look for different ways to make themselves look good and stay together, and fashion was a big part of that.

The 1930s mens fashion trends focused on relaxed looks and solid colors. They also favored fabrics such as organza, satin, and crepe. Pleated pants became very popular and were worn by many. Ties were simple and did not have any decorative frills or bows on them. Black tie for men was very informal at this time and was done with pinstripes and plain patterned socks. The look was very crisp and clean cut.

As the 1930s wore on and the World War started, the men’s fashion trends changed as the soldiers returned from overseas. Men dressed in combat clothes were still in style, but they were far from the casual styles that they were before. Now they favored fabrics and designs such as checks and brocades for their collars and buttons. These fashions began to take shape after the war and lasted right up until the 1960’s.
