The roaring twenties were an era which launched the fashion industry in England. With many different fashion and art movements are happening at this time, clothing designers quickly put out their collections and started a fashion boom. This was also an age of great affluence with many people owning their own businesses and using fashion to show off their wealth. The fashion industry responded to this by creating clothing lines that were not only fashionable but affordable as well.

As the fashion industry approached its height during the roaring twenties, people started to dress according to a particular trend. Clothes for businessmen could be much different from those worn by housewives. It was common to see men dressed in full suits with tails, while women wore trousers or skirts. Although there were no rules as to what should not be worn, fashion tended to wear what was in fashion. This included the use of brighter colors and less formal attire.

Many of the fashion trends of the twenties began to change when the Great Depression hit, making people more hesitant about spending money on new clothing. However, with the onset of the thirties, business activities started to pick up again and fashion became more popular again. The roaring twenties gave way to the Great War, making fashion more important than ever.
