Maya Eltal is a Turkish actress who portrays traditional roles of the Harem Bilal and the Djemma. She has been playing these characters for many years now and it is important to note that she has not faced any facial lines as a result of advancing age as some other actresses are guilty of. In fact, she is one of the youngest actresses to portray such a role and her career spanned some twenty years from her birth to her death. It was during her last performance in a Turkish film “Clueless” that she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Maya Eltal had always portrayed strong characters both on the screen and off, which is a reason why we loved her. Her talent was highlighted at the time when she played a character in “Clueless” whose only interest was in solving mysteries and finding a new love. She never showed traces of her personality, even when she was portraying tough characters. However, when the time came for her to play an older role in a major Turkish film “Afterlife” it was obvious that her charm was waning somewhat. The director asked Maya Eltal to do a cameo in this film as an old lady and while she was happy about the offer, she became suspicious about the story line and the reason for the cameo and it was finally revealed that it was because the director needed her help in casting a new lead role.
Now, her career is at an end but we can hope that there will be more projects which will allow her to showcase her acting abilities once again. We all know that acting is a profession that requires a lot of hard work and patience. However, the good thing about it is that if you are able to maintain a good body and keep your chin up high even after you get older, then you will have a bright future ahead of you. Therefore, even if your profession does not allow you to perform beyond the limits of your capabilities, it is important that you accept that fact and try and find some balance between your profession and your personal life. If you do that you will be able to make the most of your acting talent. So, keep doing your duty and maintain your charm.
