Maya Niiya is currently the tallest woman in Kenya. In fact, she is a national level athlete who competes regularly – both in the sexes. Maya is a very proud woman with a naturally long and lean build, which is evident from the way she stands – arms outstretched, legs crossed and shoulders back. She is not the sort of woman to be caught gawking at the rather boyish looking men in the track and field section. She is however, rather reserved and rarely shows her face – at least in public. This all adds to her professionalism, as it is apparent that she is aware of what her looks like, and what her physique actually is – so what does this translate into in her relationship with a younger woman?
It certainly doesn’t hurt, in this day and age, for a woman to take her time before deciding whether or not she will enter into a long term relationship with someone – especially if that relationship is bound to be professional. A woman can never ‘know’ another woman, or what they might think about her body – and so, it is important to leave the physical side of things for the experts. Maya has done this, and in turn has gained great respect in the African communities where she belongs. This may perhaps be one reason why she has been able to blossom professionally, as many young Kenyans are attracted to the tall, professional woman who is also smart and cultured – a bit like them, really.
It may be that Maya’s height has been responsible for her success, but it could also just be part of her innate sense of business sense, and how she sees the world. Whatever the case, she is a very successful woman, who has had a great number of personal and professional successes, and, of course, enjoys the challenges that each new challenge brings. Being tall and slim is certainly no deterrent to this end. Instead, it just means that she sees life in a different manner and is able to rise above the typical barriers presented by being short. She has managed to use her height to excel in the world of work, and is now living a successful life, enjoying the rewards of her hard work.
