Casey Tutton is an Australian professional surfer who has spanned the nation’s borders and won 12 World titles including two Olympic Gold medals. Casey Tutton was born in England but raised in Australia, where his love of surfing first began. Although he now resides in Britain, nearly all of his Australian-based friends and family reside in Australia, including wife Holly Perkins and their son Sam. He was an all-around bad-boy who was expelled from school at the age of 15 and spent a significant amount of time incarcerated in his teens for breaking the law. He also served a four-year spell in prison in Western Australia for what he believed to be drug possession charges, but later received a pardon in 1998.
As a nation, Australia has produced some excellent surfer stars, most notably Michael O’Rourke, but Tutton can claim some credit as well. A strong all-around player with both terrific speed and solid technique, Tutton is known for being a fierce competitor, and this often manifests itself in his on-line play. Casey Tutton’s greatest asset is his height, at 6ft. This enables him to generate an effective, if not spectacular, pass across the ocean and to challenge opponents off-guard. Although he does not possess the physical strength of some other world class surfers, Tutton is a determined and committed competitor, always producing results.
The national platform team, orwakeboard as they are known in Australia, is run by Casey Tutton, along with his partner, Rob Dyer. Although Tutton is not particularly vocal about his personal life in public, one can’t help but notice that he often posts photos of his family and friends on his website and profile. His partner is equally open and honest, though they both prefer to remain out of the spotlight and press spotlight (mostly), to allow others to make their own opinions. Whether it’s on the beach, in the water, or in the ocean, Tutton and Dyer have proven themselves to be good divers and athletes, which are evident in their participation in various events all around the country.
