Casey Reas was an American football player who played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, it was also very important for him to play well in the National Football League for the New York Giants. During his tenure with the Giants, he was given the All Pro honors for his efforts and his hard work on the field as well as off the field. The first and only openly gay athlete in the NFL, he is living his life proudly and happily as a gay man.
Being a gay football player has given him the opportunity to meet new people and also learn about his partner, Casey Reas. He has been able to witness first hand the prejudice that he experiences when he is with his partner. He has been able to witness the discrimination and injustices that some people in the society have. Despite all of these, he has remained strong in his profession and has continued to play his role for the Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s. The strength and determination he has shown to have enabled him to continue playing at a high level for the rest of his NFL career. All of this has been possible only because of the support system that he has received from his teammates and the coaching staff of the Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s.
Even today, Casey Reas is continuing to prove to the world that being gay is nothing to be ashamed of. He has always remained positive and focused on his profession while also being proud of his partnership with Casey Simeon. His example to other players and other people in the profession should be followed. Everyone deserves to be judged according to their performances, especially on the field where their lives are involved.
