Deborah Knight is an Australian national, singer, actress, and news reporter. Her stage name is Joanna Page, and she was a guest speaker at a 2021 World AIDS Prevention Conference in Melbourne, Australia, regarding the issue of ageism. The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHSMC) reports that women who are older than sixty-five have a higher risk of contracting AIDS. On her website, Knight expresses her desire to “live a healthy, active lifestyle so as to keep me young.” But is there anything unhealthy or inappropriate about promoting ageism?

According to the NHSMC, “height is generally a factor in health and illness, but it may also depend on race and ethnicity.” Although it is impossible to infer any connection between age, race, ethnicity, or gender with a particular health problem, certain behaviors, such as being male or female, may put one at higher or lower risk for some diseases. And height and health should be strongly considered by anyone considering height as an important element in their life style or image.

Height has often been used as a basis for choosing a partner. Height and health should never be used as a basis for choosing a partner. It is a matter of personal choice and should not be used by anyone as a reason for preferring or not preferring a particular partner.
