Deborah Leemans has written an interesting book entitled “Height Difference: How Being Tall Really matters in Love and in Life.” In this well-researched, interesting book she explores the differences between being tall or short, loving yourself or not, your career or love life, your finances or happiness, your friends or lover’s life and so much more. She explains why being short is such a big issue for so many people. She discusses how society labels us based on our height and then how that affects us, making us feel bad about ourselves, which leads to low self-esteem, depression, and ultimately pain.

Height difference does affect relationships in a relationship. It can make the relationship or attraction seem more shallow. It can be very difficult and even impossible to build a successful relationship with someone if there is significant difference between you height and the person you are attracted to or dating. The book talks about the things to do when the scales come in your favor, and what you should do to keep them coming in. There are some really good ideas in this book and Leemans does a good job of showing you the best advice available and also how to apply it effectively.

As a woman who has been in a relationship where there were significant height differences, I found that dating and long term relationships were a lot harder than most women expected. In fact, it was downright impossible and many women had to deal with heartache and heartbreak while going through the length of their relationship and realizing that the relationship wasn’t meant to be. This brought up plenty of emotions for me as I struggled with my own self image and self confidence. Being tall was important to me, but I realized that I couldn’t let go of the need to feel like I was short in order to live a full life. I am grateful that Leemans wrote this helpful guide and I think that it’s going to help a lot of people out.
