Claire Buhrfeind is well known internationally as an extremely successful entrepreneur, speaker and consultant. Claire founded her business in 1998, after working with the United States Peace Corps, where she served as an English teacher in Latin America. Claire retired to a small farming community in rural Minnesota and started Buhrfeind Baskets, a company that manufactured fine yarns for high fashion apparel. Claire is described as “a great teacher and mentor who helped create and empower women entrepreneurs everywhere” by the Online College of Business and Leadership. Claire is a Nationality: American, which makes her eligible to run for public office.

Claire Buhrfeind’s height and name do not match her professional resume, however, she has been described by biographers as a very strong personality who often wore jeans and a sweater even when going to work. In addition, Claire liked simple things, such as jewelry and art. She was also described as a passionate lover of nature and lived in a house on a mountain with her husband and two children. Claire Buhrfeind’s profession would not be considered as glamorous by most in the legal and corporate professions, but this is merely an opinion based upon a limited reading of her professional bio.

Buhrfeind’s current marital status is currently under question. She is the wife of an engineer, while her former husband, Richard Buhrfeind, is described as a “born entrepreneur.” They married in 1980 and divorced in 1996. Claire Buhrfeind’s professional bio does not mention her husband, nor does it give much information about their relationship, except to note that they were happy together and remain so. If Claire Buhrfeind runs for public office, her husband will surely have some say about their future.
