Claire Foy is an English actress best known for playing the lead role in the award winning movie The Perfume Effect. She has also received various other awards, such as; an Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award, and a Satellite Award. Claire Foy was born in Britain but is of Irish decent, and as far back as the age of eight her family were involved in acting in the country.

Claire Foy was a very good student throughout school and earned a degree in drama at University College, University of Manchester. After graduating, she landed several jobs in the Royal Shakespeare Company in London, acting in one of her most memorable characters, King Lear. It was here that her love affair with acting began to take shape, as she discovered different theater forms and realized she had a talent for them. She then decided to concentrate on TV and films, after which she appeared in a number of different popular TV shows, such as Absolutely Fabulous and Stana Katica. Throughout this time, Claire kept her real identity a secret, working as a sales agent in order to support herself. However, in 1996, she was discovered at a talent agency in her village, where producers gave her the chance to perform on stage, playing the part of Miss Catherine Middleton.

Claire’s career spanned over twenty years, during which time she guest-starred in a number of different popular shows, such as Absolutely Fabulous, Stana Katica, and Rosemary Lappenning’s Love Actually. After enjoying a highly successful career on stage, Claire chose to concentrate on writing, in addition to guest-acting. She gained a reputation as one of Britain’s leading screenwriters and even wrote a book based on her experiences as an actress and writer. Claire’s notable work throughout her career included the script for the feature film Edward Scissorhands, as well as the stage play Pyramids. Claire also wrote a novel entitled The Cider Housewife, which were never made into a movie, but rather became a best-seller.
