Claire Basler is an American stage and screen actress who has played a variety of important characters throughout her long career. She was known for playing the character of Corrine Brody in the A Nightmare On Elm Street movies and the character of Wendy Pickle in the movie Porky’s. She also has been nominated for an Academy Award for her work in the plays The Heartbreak Kid and The Graduate. Claire was born in Harlem and grew up in New York City. Her professional acting career began in the early nineteen sixties when she was cast as a call girl in the musical Cats and was considered rather strange by her peers.
Claire Basler was married to Richard Barrow, who was an artist but lost interest in being after their marriage. They had two children before Richard committed suicide in 1970. Their marriage was a result of nationality and Claire was able to maintain her own sense of personal identity even though they were both from the same ethnic group. In a strange way, she managed to stay true to her own roots despite being part of a blended family.
Claire Basler is currently thirty-five years old and has never married. She has remained relatively slender and maintains her own youthful appearance. She has appeared in some well known movies including The Night Cafe and You Were There. She is currently appearing in the movie Love Actually alongside Steve Martin.
