Natasha Durley is a Nationality artist. Her work focuses on nature, color, the natural world, and playful illustrations. Her illustrations have been used for a range of commercial projects, such as advertising, design, magazine content, and educational material. She currently lives in the south of England.
Before becoming an illustrator, Ms. Durley was a writer and published several books of poetry. Her poems are centered around nature, such as the poem “From the Caves,” which takes a jagged and poetic turn and speaks about the destructive changes taking place in the human soul. The publication of her first book, entitled “Stones and Stars,” earned her the acclaim of the Manohar Vaidya Award for Poetry. Ms. Durley has also received grants from the National Trust for the Arts, the National Institute of Culture, the National Gallery, the Academy of Literature, the Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Royal Institute of British Architectural Studies, and the National Academy of Design.
Natasha Durley’s own illustrations are frequently used within the context of her work, whereas her writing is often utilized as the contributing author or the ghostwriter. She collaborates with a number of other writers, most notably her former partner, Martin Smith. Their relationship was problematic from the onset, but they now co-exist happily and successfully in their freelance artistic careers. Her illustrations are often used to support his writing.
