Is Eliana Putting Her Out by Competing in the Freestyle Wrestling Title?

Eliana Perez de Leon is one of the most beautiful faces competing in the freestyle wrestling scene of the World. She is known for her height as an example, and even though she has mentioned before that her height is not a problem for her, the truth is that this is one of the more pressing issues in the sport she competes in. This is not just a case of her not being tall, but it is also a case of whether or not she is able to convert these height points to something else, such as power. The concern for wrestlers comes when they start to focus so much on their height and build, and the concern for promoters comes when they start looking at wrestling matches and wanting to see more height in competition. So how can you tell if Eliana is really a height problem, or if promoter Bill Emel’s insistence on her being billed as a “five-foot-tall” is simply pushing her own agenda?

First, one has to ask themselves what kind of a person is Eliana? The fact that she is willing to sacrifice her looks in order to compete for the freestyle wrestling title at whatever height she is given is not someone who should be emulating. This kind of person has egos, needs to be challenged, and needs to have all aspects of her being questioned. When someone who lacks confidence is emulating, they are not doing themselves any favors. Eliana has beaten some pretty bad opponents, and the real question here is whether or not the challenges will be enough to overcome the height issue.

So if you are asking yourself whether or not Eliana is cheating because she beat some pretty bad opponents, you have to ask yourself whether or not you can overcome your own fears of heights in this profession. Are you willing to step outside your own comfort zone, because you feel taller is a must? Then you have to find another wrestler to work with that isn’t going to push you around or make you feel inadequate. There are plenty of women out there that can do it, so don’t let your pride get in the way of a great competition.
